As weblogs became established, bloggers would put a list of other bloggers in the sidebar of their own. Without any description, these were like news links without headlines.
At the South by Southwest conference I demonstrated the UX to make this work. It was picked up first by Six Apart, and then by Biz Stone, for Twitter and has now become a standard component of the web, used by more than 500 million people.
This is UX design that is obvious and trivial, but it is the right obvious and trivial and these qualities are important for designing things to be used by millions of people.
